Katie - UPDATED August 29, 2014

GENERAL:
  1. Favorite Place(s) to Shop:  Target, Barnes n' Noble, Express, iTunes, New York & Company, Old Navy, Pac Sun, Victoria's Secret, Wal-Mart
  2. Favorite Place(s) to Eat / Type of Food:  Panera, P.F. Chang's, Longhorn Steakhouse, Subway, Red Robin (yummmmm!)
  3. Favorite Genre of Music and Artist:  I don't have a specific genre of music that I listen to exclusively, nor do I have specific artists where I *must* own a song if they compose it.  I will listen to almost anything from heavy metal to Disney (except country...I really dislike country...), so when it comes to music, iTunes cards are the best option.
  4. Favorite Non-Fictional Animal:  Sorry, guys, but this is going to be a little vague...A couple of my *non-favorite* animals are (1) apes in general (though monkeys are adorable) and (2) spiders.  I don't dislike spiders necessarily, but I'd prefer they keep their distance.  However, if I had the chance to, say, work for a day with spiders or apes at a zoo or something, I would do it in a heartbeat.  My favorite "group" of animals is marine.  I especially love deep-sea creatures because of their rarity, uniqueness, and mystery.  When it comes to my personal pets, I'm more of a cat person than a dog person.  Not that I don't adore dogs (I love my Lil' Man!), but cats are easier to take care of, in my opinion.  I mean, you guys know me.  If it's an animal, I'm pretty much a fan.
  5. Favorite Type of Clothing:  I have no idea.

COLORS:
  1. Favorite Single Color:  This question is pretty much un-answerable for me.  I love color, so having to choose a specific one as a favorite is impossible.  It depends on what the color is on, quite frankly.
  2. Favorite Pair of Colors:  See above.
  3. Color You Wear Most Often:  When in doubt, find it in black, but I also like to wear grey and white.  I like dark purple, dark blue (but not so much navy), and dark green as well.
  4. Color Scheme of Residence (if applicable):  Alas, this is not applicable to me yet.

GENERAL BOOKS:
  1. Most Coveted Fictional Item(s):  Book companions to fantasy movies and shows.  I already own a huge book on the Harry Potter movie series, and I have the art book for Avatar: The Last Airbender, but there are companions out to Firefly, Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit movies, etc. that I would love to add to my collection.  And if the book is about creatures, all the better!
  2. Favorite Reading Genre:  Fantasy and adventure, especially if they go together and there's fun animals involved!  I also like ghost stories, both fiction and non-fiction (i.e., Ghost Stories of Ireland or something).
  3. Current Favorite Novel(s)/Series:
    1. Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan
    2. The Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan
    3. The Redwall series by Brian Jacques (I read some of these in high school, but could never quite read the whole series, and I would love to someday!)
    4. The "Princess" series by Jessica Day George, of which I have read Princess of the Midnight Ball and Princess of Glass
  4. Favorite Character(s) from Said Novel(s):  I have no idea.  Just name the character and ask if I like him / her and I'll try to give you my best answer.
  5. What is it About the Novel you Like?:  From Riordan's books, I like the mixture of mythology and modern times.  They're also hilarious, right?  I like the Redwall series because they're about animals, of course!  And the "Princess" series from JDG appeals to me because they're beautifully-written fairy tale adaptations.
  6. Favorite "Classics?":
    1. The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkein
    2. Northanger Abbey and Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
    3. Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll
    4. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum; Dracula by Bram Stoker
  7. All Time Favorite Author / Series:  Since this is all supposed to be non-Harry Potter, I guess my favorite author would be Rick Riordan.  At this point, if he writes something, I'll more than likely read it.  Jessica Day George and Jane Austen are contenders for favorite as well, but really, my favorite all-time series is the Harry Potter books.
  8. Preferred Format for Reading:  I have an iPad, which is why I am stressing iTunes gift cards so much.  They work for books, movies, music, apps, etc.  Otherwise, I like paperback more so than hardback, but I'm not opposed to getting hardback books either.

HARRY POTTER:
  1. House Affiliation:  Slytherin
  2. Wand Makeup:  Black Walnut, 12 and 3/4 inches, dragon heartstring core, rigid
  3. Your Patronus:  Dragon
  4. Favorite Book:  Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander
  5. Favorite Movie:  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Parts I and II
  6. Favorite Character(s):  I kind of like them all for one reason or another, whether it's because of their personality or because of how well-written they are.
  7. Favorite Villain(s):  Voldemort
  8. Favorite Pairing(s):  I don't have one - they're all adorable.
  9. Favorite Spell:  Probably the Patronus Charm.
  10. Favorite Potion:  I have no idea.
  11. Favorite Fantastical Beast:  Dragons, thestrals, phoenixes, and every single other one in existence...or rather, not in existence...
  12. Most Coveted Magic Item:  Two words...MAGIC WAND!  And I want *my* wand, gorram it!
  13. Most Coveted Power / Spell / Potion:  Oh, this is hard...First of all, I would love to be an animagus, or to have Tonks' powers of transformation.  If I can't have that, how about talking to animals?  Oh, or!  Or how about some Gillyweed that'll make me grow gills and webs between my fingers and toes so I can go diving and explore the seas?!

NON-HARRY POTTER NERDINESS:

  1. Other Fandoms to Which You Belong:  Oh, boy...
    1. Once Upon a Time (and fairy tales in general and all adaptations thereof)

    15. Monsters and Mysteries in America (it's a docu-series about strange things that happen / are seen in the United States, like bigfoot, melonheads, chupacabras, etc.)
    16. Anime, though I'm picky about new ones
Super heroes (movies more so than comic books, and Marvel more so than DC)
    17. Robots and other machina sci-fi
    18. Science fiction in general
    19. NOTE:  For all fandoms, please avoid gore.  For example, I can't stand The Walking Dead (or zombies in general) because they're just so gross
  2. Current Favorite Television Series and Favorite Character(s):  I don't really have favorite characters
    1. Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

    6. Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty

    9. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent, both dress and combat uniforms (I may or may not have plans drawn up...)
    10. One of the Star Spangled Singers from Captain America: The First Avenger

    1. The Hobbit:  There and Back Again
    2. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part I
    3. Into the Woods

OTHER:
  1. Current Hobbies, if applicable:  Drawing, reading, writing, scrapbooking, and sewing.  The last one is relatively new, and I'm not so good at it, but supplies would be awesome.  I have a sewing machine, but I am not at all opposed to getting gifts of how-to books, thread, fabric, buttons, gadgets, etc.
  2. Collections, if applicable:
    1. I really like glass art.  Cassie has given me some glass paper weights from her grandfather, and I love them.  There's also a company that makes glass figurines for Hallmark stores (Glass Gallery, I think), and they're so pretty.  I have a few of them already, but I've never seemed to get a "collection" off the ground.
    2. Also, Mom just bought me a Pandora bracelet!  If you want ideas on which charms are a good idea, I can send you e-mails!
  3. Favorite Way(s) to Relax:  Bubble bath, especially with Eucalyptus Spearmint Stress Relief scent from Bath and Body Works.  I'm also a big believer in naps and a good night sleep.
  4. Favorite Hot Drink / Sweet Treat / Etc.:
    1. Twinings English Breakfast tea (make sure it's decaf!)
    2. Starburst (the original)
    3. Smarties, Gushers
    4. Ice Cream (vanilla, cookies n' cream, or cookie dough)
    5. Cheesecake (plain)
    6. Dove Cookies n' Cream squares
    7. Bubble Tape,...I kinda have a sweet tooth, in case you hadn't noticed  :-P
  5. Any Other Obsessions / Interests:
    1. American Sign Language, if this counts.  I really want to be fluent someday.
    2. Criminal Justice is another big one.  Apparently Mom scared the living daylights out of her co-workers one year because she was having our Christmas gifts delivered to her office - books entitled Victimology and The Serial Killer Files (*snork*)
    3. I also love behind-the-scenes stuff with movies and TV shows - movie makeup, special effect, etc.
  6. Any Allergies or Food Dislikes:
    1. Acid Reflux.  I have to be very careful with acidic foods.  I can't eat citrus fruits like oranges, but juices are usually okay, especially if it's just an ingredient in a meal.  I can't have tomatoes at all (and don't even get me started on how mad that makes me), but ketchup is okay for some reason.  Fizzy sodas are usually okay, but I can only have them sparingly.
    2. Lactose Sensitivity.  I cannot have dairy pretty much at all anymore, and like my acid reflux, don't even get me started on how sad I am about that.  I can have a slice of cheese or mayo on a sandwich without a problem, but eating a whole bowl of ice cream (*sob*) or cereal in milk is out of the question.  I now exclusively buy lactose-free options.
    3. Caffeine.  I have anxiety, so I need to avoid copious amounts of caffeine to prevent panic attacks.  I do not drink caffeinated drinks at all, although I will cheat sometimes and have a raspberry iced tea (it usually doesn't end well, but it's SO YUMMY).  Chocolate usually doesn't bother me for some reason, so gifts of chocolate stuff are fine, but I don't drink any hot chocolate or chocolate milk.  I do not and will not, under any circumstances, drink energy drinks.
    4. I won't drink alcohol ever
    5. I dislike mushrooms, artichokes, olives, brussel sprouts, sour kraut, cole slaw, and sweet-flavored meats (i.e., pear-glazed pork...ew...)
  7. Items You Can't Find That You Miss:  Hi-Chews!  They're this chewy Japanese candy that are wrapped similar to a row of Starburst.  My favorite is green apple  :-)
  8. "Guilty" Pleasure:  Erm...desserts?
  9. Technology You Cannot Live Without:  My laptop and my iPad.
